It's Tuesday night and
I (Levi "Too" King) am headed to the video store to get a movie for me and my wife.
I looked and looked and didn't really see anything new that I wanted to see. In moments like these I get adventerous
and pick something that I wouldn't normally get LOL! I see the movie "Fireproof" with
Kirk Cameron who use to play Mike Seaver on the old sitcom "Growing
Pains". I read the description and saw that it was by the same people who did the movie "Facing
The Giants" which I really enjoyed so I decided to give it a try.
I got home and put it in and my initial thought was "This
movie feels kind of low budget..." but before I ever realized it, I was TOTALLY engulfed in it. My
initial thoughts were long gone as his character (a fireman) was given a book by his father when his marriage was nearing
destruction. The movie is pretty much about his character reading the daily devotional book and following the rules
to the book.
Just recently my church's married couple's ministry decided to have movie night and watch the movie and our ministry leader
ordered the book which I didn't know really existed. The movie had a great impact on our ministry so we decided as a
ministry to take the 40 day Love Dare challenge like Cameron's character did in the movie. I have not
completed the dare yet but booooooooooooy so far it is SOOOOOMETHING to say the least! It's amazing how husbands and
wives can usually place blame on the other for anything that could be wrong or off in a marriage but this book uses The
Word of God to show us US! This book has me doing exercises and practices in my life now that not only helps
me with my wife but how I relate to my children and others as well. I HIGHLY recommend this book and movie to ALL
married couples whether you're having problems are not. I was not having problems when I experienced both of these but
they added so much more to my relationship with my wife.
